So we got a little sneak peak at the Bubble Kingdom, as Mr. Bugsly joined forced with Streets of Atlantis to begin promoting a series of events. First off, this Saturday Headtron is active in NYC for the first time in a proper way, giving Sugarpill his debut performance here, playing alongside ‘the Luvstep king’, Gladkill and local favorite, psy-crunk God, Space Jesus. Also on deck are Eyelove and Ink Line. This is the finest lineup NYC has had in awhile and is an introduction to unique and original music engineered for top notch sound. ‘High quality west coast crunk, glitch-hop, midtempo bass, and luvstep’ – and buttery as fuck! The West Coast is carrying a handful of talented artists that differ from our vibe on the east, and it is truly and honor and a gift to have Gladkill, Sugarpill, and Space Jesus all performing for you in one night. Sugarpill has released his sound on Daly City Recordings, Muti Music, Simplify Recordings, and more. He also is responsible for the mastering of many major EPs featured on all different online retail spots. Gladkill premiered his ‘Lovelost‘ EP with Made In Glitch and has stunned a lot of people with his gorgeous melodies and crunchy beats. We give this event 5 stars and strongly recommend you join us on this rare occasion. We guarantee that vibe you were urging for…

Come to Eastern America’s highest town, with an elevation of 5,500 ft, resting upon 150 acres boasting of views of the Blue Ridge Mountains; free yourself! We’ve heard it from so many different groups of people, Gnarnia is calling their name. The Blue Ridge Parkway peacefully and pleasantly guides you to Beech Mountain where you’ll find home at Gnarnia the Festival. If you haven’t gotten out deep into nature’s inner beauty, here it is in it’s purest form. It features gorgeous views, hikes, waterfalls, overlooks, and other attractions along the Blue Ridge Montains and Appalachian Trail. You can catch it all on your way to or from Gnarnia. “As the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and one of the great destinations in the South, Grandfather Mountain stands head and shoulders above the surrounding region.” You may even want to take your own detour and take the time to explore the ridges and valleys,  the native wildlife habitat,  the Mile-High Swinging Bridge; an experience of a lifetime. If you want to wander off to picnic and fish, there are a bunch of beautiful trails that lead to 60-85 ft. falls with trout to catch (ie: Crabtree Falls, The Cascades, Laurel Creek Falls). Or here’s a full attraction guide.

When you’re ready, head to Gnarnia the Festival from August 9th to August 11th. This year has a complete Yoga Schedule so bring your mat and proper gear and ‘prepare to align your chakras’.

Here’s the schedule:

THURSDAY:  Evening yoga 4-5 PM

FRIDAY:  Morning Yoga 9-10 AM; Evening Yoga 4-5 PM

SATURDAY:  Morning Yoga 9-10 AM; Evening Yoga 4-5 PM

SUNDAY:  Morning Yoga 9-10 AM

We were attracted to Gnarnia from the start. They have covered all apects of a proper festival and provide live music, health & wellness, dance, community, nature, poetry, fashion, and more. As a part of the dance involvement, Gnarnia does hip-hopBattleHolex Carolinas and DJ Brett Rock along with B-Boy Frantic (Universal Zulu Nation/ BattleHolex) present a 1 on 1 B-Boy (break-dance) battle and South East B-Boy Championships 2012 Qualifier event. “This is not the typical festival performance art showcase where people observe from a distance and clap politely for some novelty they don’t quite understand. This is an actual battle featuring B-Boys from across the South East. The format will be a single elimination, tournament-style battle judged by a panel of three, top regional B-Boys. This a chance to witness actual Hip Hop first hand, so join us at Gnarnia, learn something new, support B-Boy culture and get involved!”  Other activities include a poetry showcase featuring Solstiz, NovaKane, Griffin Paynes and others, the land of Oz, a costume ball, and bicycle jousting.

Did we mention the lineup is a crafted masterpiece? We present our ‘SoA artist spotlight‘, the top ten you must see at Gnarnia the Festival:

1) ESKMO

2) HeRobust

3) Starkey

First up on the Summer Streets of Atlantis event schedule is a west coast extravaganza, showcasing exclusive Far Arden Recordings artists with support from the finest local talent. On Friday, June 22 Humboldt, CA native Hypha (World Famous), headlines Cameo Art Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. Cameo is in the heart of Williamsburg on 93 N. 6th Street. As a rare occasion, this up-and-coming trap and future beats producer joins the stage with Far Arden artist DuBuddha, Montana native and CatFood resident DJ. DuBuddha is also making his first trip to the east coast for an event. He is responsible for some of today’s most intellectual soul-moving glitch-hop and future bass. Alongside these two west coast headliners, Philadelphia resident and Altered Ego Collective member Binary Bits revisits NY to present his always appreciated live and original set; and to top off the lineup and add a taste of NY music, Freshmore artist Mess Kid will open. Don’t miss out on the action and a chance to catch new sound, feel new vibes, and enjoy a night out with Streets of Atlantis.

Hypha – Loved You

DuBuddha – Purple Whale Fairy

Binary Bits – Let Me Hear Ya

Mess Kid – Bottom of the Sea

After sharing one of the major gems of the Far Arden Spring Compilation and coming to a conclusion with releasing a stream of “The Singles” before the actual full Beatport release, we decided it was in order to celebrate the checkpoint and the birth of a new community of  future based production. The latest single we define as a gem was produced by Montana natives SIMPLETON and sAuce, two-thirds of the SPANKiNz supergroup. The title of the track is “Octopus Footwork” and they weren’t lying when they assured a major dancefloor hit! Filled with future dubs, complex bass, a lovestep feel, and proper drum work, SIMPLETON & sAuce are joining the pioneers of “Future Bass (+verb, ChrisB., Gladkill, Sugarpill, ANNuNAKii, Jupit3r, jOBOT, GoldRush, Stephan Jacobs) and becoming one of the most talented electronic music producers out there. Alongside seven other singles available for stream on soundcloud, these tracks will give you a fine introduction to a large portion of the Far Arden/Streets of Atlantis sound. We have received a huge response from what has been posted and we’re looking forward to breaking some Beatport chart-topping records in the Glitch Hop category with your help! We are extremely grateful for all fans. Stayed tuned for more music on our soundcloud, Beatport, and a FREE 5-track EP with the launch of our bandcamp at 200 Facebook likes!

Far Arden Spring Compilation – “The Singles”

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Montana native SounSiva in the process of creating a spring compilation for our record label branch, Far Arden Recordings. During that process, we’ve gotten a chance to know this up-and-coming future bass heavy hitter and his production is top notch! From future 808s to purple crunk, his original beats will not only keep your feet moving but will put a big smile on your face as you feel his rhythm. Not only is he now a Streets of Atlantis resident alongside DuBuddha, but he also resides as a CatFood music producer (sAuce, SIMPLETON, MetaTron). While he is in the works of creating an EP to release within the months, Streets of Atlantis gives you an exclusive track he just submitted entitled “Self Ignition” – FREE DOWNLOAD. His production has been compared to Minnesota, ProJect Aspect, and MartyParty by the few I’ve shared his unreleased creations with;  Stay tuned, much love, and enjoy the FREE MUSIC brought to you by Far Arden Recordings and Streets of Atlantis productions.
