We are excited to return to Camp Minglewood this Summer for another special experience at the Catskill Chill Music Festival. Beginning Friday, September 9th and running all weekend, this year presents a hell of a lineup and a proper blend of live jam bands, live electronic-based jam bands, and DJ-like performances from bass-oriented producers. Catskill Chill 2012 features, but not limited to Lotus, EOTO, Break Science, Yonder Mountain String Band, Soulive, Lettuce, Zoogma, The Heavy Pets, DrFameus, Damn Right!, lespecial, D.V.S*, and JGB w/ Melvin Seals.

Start off with FREE PARKING and head over to the ‘intimate setting‘ that is Catskill Chill, alongside three ‘main music stages’ and an ‘open mic’ stage. There are on-site cabin rentals w/ hot showers and electricity or FREE CAMPING and RV parking. The Catskills bring out a vibe in itself; imagine being in the area just as Summer concludes and enjoying the last of the ‘Summer breeze’ around a warm bonfire drum circle. The festival will also feature yoga classes, clothing and craft vendors, a fire show by SOFP, food vendors w/ vegetarian options, and lots more. Click here to see the detailed artist schedule!

Who’s going to CounterPoint Music Festival?? Streets of Atlantis will be there in full effect and we’re here to guide you to who to see and why you should attend! Taking place in Atlanta, Georgia from September 27-29, “this 8,000-acre paradise is filled with well-established rolling pastures, lakes, and woodlands that run 12 miles along the Chattahoochee River and will play host to multiple stages, art installations and a variety of other activities.” Whether you’re driving in with a crew or taking the bus and meeting your party, CounterPoint is worth every penny; and there are options. Do you love the outdoors and regularly attend festivals? This festival is a beautiful location for camping out, whether you’ve got a tent, tarp, or RV. We know a lot of folks aren’t into the whole outdoor camping experience and just want to catch the live music and sleep in a hotel with a quality shower,  room service, a pool, and air conditioning. CounterPoint has got you covered and offers a few different options for that too. Consider It Dan (CID) has put together hotel & shuttle packages with ‘reliable transportation’ included, to and from CounterPoint. Packages include accommodations at the Marriott Atlanta Airport and come with or without GA, VIP, or Platinum tickets to the festival. Also, do you need a ride to the festival? CounterPoint provides both short and long distance shuttles.

Art will be everywhere! Local artists and art schools will have displays all over the campground, stages and more. There will be an ‘Arts Village‘ with artists, vendors, and fans  selling and displaying their art, crafts, and merchandise; don’t forget to stroll through and check out the diverse and unique creations from, but not limited to, organic hand-made clothing to wire wrapped metaphysical crystals and gems to original hand-blown glass.

Now that we’ve given you an overview, we arrive at the best part: the lineup. CounterPoint has a stacked lineup that speaks for itself. Check out the lineup on the poster below, listing all of the artists performing, a diverse group of EDM producers and DJ’s. Under the poster, we present an ‘artist spotlight’, the top 10 artists performing at CounterPoint that Streets of Atlantis recommend that you do not miss!

Streets of Atlantis hasn’t given away a track in a couple months and we think it’s about time! What better way to do it than hook you all up with fresh new production from MLi (pronounced Mikey Likes iT) – FREE DOWNLOAD! Our last event in Manhattan featured a stellar lineup with Kaminanda, Skytree, MLi, and Subset; the vibes were unreal and each set was completely unique. MLi played a high energy, 60 minute set of originals, and like always, the crowd went wild. Each live set different than the other, this past show included a couple brand new tracks that truly show his progression as an artist. MLi is an east coast producer, based in New Jersey and becoming a “local favorite” in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and even Boston.  His first independent EP, Brainwashed Lizard Puppet, is available for FREE on his bandcamp; a must-download that includes the famous “Astro Kitty“, a remix of Oasis‘ “Wonderwall” by both MLi and Bartlomein, a remix of Hot Sugars‘ “Fuckable“, and more. We at SoA love adding MLi to our west coast based lineups! His music has it all; funky basslines, crunked out glitchy vocals, love-based synths, impressive percussion work, and even catch him laying down live midi on his M-Audio keyboard during his set. If you haven’t caught up on your MLi, take the time to experience the sound and download “Monkey Crunks iT” for FREE via Streets of Atlantis. Also, look for MLi on Beatport, iTunes, and all other online retail soon, with a track on the Far Arden Compilation Vol. 2 alongside +verb, ProJect Aspect, Atomic Reactor, AMB, Haywyre, Oh Tebins! and more.

Russ Liquid finally treats us with his debut official release, an EP on Muti Music entitled “Saving Grace“. Russ has been playing live shows for years, starting in a jazz quintet playing the piano, saxophone, trumpet, and flute. The quintet toured the Carribean and South America playing clubs, parties, and resorts. After being introduced to electronic music production, he started blending his live techniques with internal beats and synthetic sound, creating sexy dancefloor grooves. He has played The Do LaB stage at summer festivals, toured with Opiuo Live Band, co-headlined events with ill-esha, performed at Envision festival in Costa Rica and has quickly made a name for himself as a glitch-hop producer, performer, and member of the Headtron Agency based in Los Angeles, CA. Besides his older independent bandcamp release and a few soundcloud tracks, there hadn’t been too much Russ Liquid on the glitch-hop charts until Headtron released a full compilation on Muti Music which included Russ Liquid‘s “Pars Lunae“. That track, shortly after, became a Streets of Atlantis favorite and top shared track. After the Headtron compilation release, we have been anxiously awaiting an official Russ Liquid debut release. Happy to annouce that it is finally here, the “Saving Grace” EP featuring “Saving Grace“, “Portamento“, “Asencion“, “Tapetonic“, and “Con Fusia del la morte“. This EP is a proper future bass classic; glitched out new melodies, original vocals, live trumpets, and an organic sub sound, a guaranteed favorite!

Since passing 200 likes on the Far Arden Recordings facebook page, we’ve launched a bandcamp to have a spot for the free music. The first is an EP in the “facebook likes series” being released every 100 likes, a 5-track EP featuring GRiDWORK, Hypha, DuBuddha, SounSiva, and Dr. Knobz. You can visit the Far Arden Recordings bandcamp for a free download. All tracks are unreleased and exclusive favorites.

GRiDWORK delivers a beautiful future bass single that blends unique instrumentation, lovestep and hip-hop into a classic track and a wonderful EP opener. GRiDWORK is LA-based and one half of Continuum with jOBOT. He just released a minimix on his soundcloud with about 16 minutes of all unreleased originals, including his “200 Likes EP” track and two Continuum originals. The second track by up-and-coming producer Hypha is another love song with impressive drum work, catchy 808′s and an unbelievable melody. Hypha is featured on Pixelord‘s latest remix release and also just released his own independent 2 track EP called “Distancia featuring a powerful remix by +verb. Look for Hypha on June 22 in Brooklyn, NY at Cameo Art Gallery playing with Illegitimate Children, DuBuddha, and SounSiva!

DuBuddha is featured on track three of the “200 Likes EP” with his track “Schwomp Land“. DuBuddha brings you on a psychedelic journey through his future bass creation; space-like samples & glitchy vocals. “Schwomp Land” is a B-side off his “The Golden Age” EP that we thought you all would enjoy as a free download. Look for “The Golden Age” on Beatport this month featuring the single “Purple Whale Fairy“. After a trip with DuBuddha, you reach track four,  SounSiva‘s midtempo  ”Tribe Light” with a purple bass / hip-hop vibe. SounSiva is seriously growing as an artist, and it shows in his recent production. Stay tuned for his debut EP, “Bucket and Pillows” out soon on Far Arden Recordings for FREE. For the east coast fans, this EP captures the sounds of Hypha, DuBuddha, and SounSiva extremely well and can help give you a “trailer” of the Far Arden showcase event on June 22 at Cameo Art Gallery.

The final track is a real funky glitch-hop tune from Dr. Knobz. This one has been on Dr. Knobz‘ soundcloud, only for stream, for select months and the response has been outstanding. We are excited to include it in the 5-track EP and give it out alongside these other artists. Dr. Knobz is also a co-owner of GruntWorthy records with Carly DeLoach and is a major player in today’s future bass, & glitch-hop.

So if you haven’t already, head to farardenrecordings.bandcamp.com and grab your FREE copy of the “200 Likes EP”.
